Plain-English definitions of the terms LiftOff uses across the platform.

Driver
A startup or small business that posts tasks on LiftOff and pays for the work. If you're hiring, you're a Driver.
Accelerator
A freelancer on LiftOff who takes on and completes tasks for startups. If you're doing the work, you're an Accelerator.
Task
The unit of work on LiftOff: a defined piece of work a startup needs done, from a logo to a landing page to a growth campaign.
Shortlist
The curated list of up to five interested, matched freelancers a startup chooses from — LiftOff's alternative to open bidding.
Matching window
The period after a task is posted during which invited freelancers can register their interest.
Review window
The period after work is submitted during which the startup reviews the deliverables before payment is released.
Deliverables
The completed work a freelancer submits for the startup's review and approval.
Rocket
LiftOff's AI assistant for drafting and scoping tasks clearly before matching begins.
